President’s Note- Eric Shogren
OFF THE RUNNING BOARD by Eric Shogren
I want to start this column out with a HUGH THANKS to Bob Reis and Gregory Jones for opening their garages for the Garage Tour on Saturday, June 6th. We ended up with four Model A’s and several in Modern Steel as we toured down to Bob’s garage(s). Then we had a pleasant cross country drive to Greg Jones. Not to mention winding up at Duke’s for Lunch- a perfect Model A outing!
It has been a very Busy Spring for the Aiken Model A’s. In February we toured to Ridge Springs for lunch at Junipers. In March, we supported a “Roaring 20’s” themed fundraiser for St Mary’s School and had a tech session to install Ron Paul Jr.’s engine as well as driving up to Lexington for the Palmetto A’s annual picnic. April found us driving to the 60th Springfield Frog Jump Festival and Parade! Also, in April many attended the Old 96th District Swap Meet, and we had a great turnout at the Green Boundary Club Car Show. In May we would have knocked out two Parades, but some badly needed rain kept us from the Johnston’s SC Peach Festival Parade. But as always, we had a great turnout for Aiken’s Memorial Day Parade!
If you have Tours or Drives you would like the Club to do, please let us know!
If you have any questions, please give me a call (803) 215-3276, or drop me an email—AikenModelAs1@gmail.com. So see you all at the next meeting on Tuesday July 7th at 7:00PM. And as I like to Say, “A day broke down on the side of the road, in youur ModelA, is better than the Best day at work!”
